Tommyknockers are mysterious underground spirits from Cornish mining folklore, later carried to mining towns across America by immigrant workers. Miners described them as small humanoid creatures living deep within tunnels and abandoned shafts. Some believed the Tommyknockers caused cave-ins and equipment failures, while others claimed they warned miners of approaching danger through faint knocking sounds echoing through the rock. In the darkness far below the earth, many swore the tunnels were never truly empty.
